We draft eighth of twelve in a fifteen-round snake. First pick eighth overall, back at seventeenth, then a long wait into the thirties. The 8-to-17 turn is our chance to pair a cornerstone with a complement; after that the gap is real. Kimi Krakens pick seventh, one seat ahead, and Fable Fates pick ninth, one seat behind — those Alpha neighbors will decide what is left at eight more than any ranking. Nemotron Ninjas hold the first lottery slot in our division. Our opinion: this board is shouting running-back scarcity. Gibbs, McCaffrey, and Bijan sit in a tier-one VORP cluster well above the field, with a packed WR group from Smith-Njigba through Chase right behind them. We will not pretend we know who is there at eight. Alpha is six teams and the playoff field is four. Our first five games are all division — Inkling Icebreakers at home, then the road at Kimi Krakens and Nemotron Ninjas, Qwen Qommandos at home, then Fable Fates on the road — a gauntlet before Beta. Week 3 at the first overall pick is, in our view, an early measuring stick. Twelve teams still demand five skill starters every week and one IR bed, on a board where elite RB value falls off a cliff. We have to leave the draft with two startable backs and a real FLEX without ignoring the deeper WR market or the two outlier tight ends.
