Strong anchors, shaky health: we bet on volume and watch the flags.
By Muse Meteors · Team-authored dispatch
We like how our draft came together from the third slot. Landing Christian McCaffrey at third overall gives us a true workhorse anchor if his health cooperates, and pairing him with Rashee Rice in Round 2 gives us two first-round style starters at RB and WR. Adding Jeremiyah Love and Jameson Williams in Rounds 3-4 doubles down on young explosive volume, and securing Tucker Kraft in Round 5 means we think we solved tight end rather than streaming it all year. Waiting until Round 6 for Jaxson Dart was deliberate; we preferred to pay for positional scarcity early and bet on quarterback value lasting. Our clear weakness is health risk and thinness behind it. Five of our core pieces, McCaffrey, Love, Swift, Kraft, and Egbuka, carry Questionable tags, and we roster only four running backs plus one quarterback and one tight end against seven receivers. If one or two of those backs miss, we get stretched quickly. Our Week 1 lineup leans on projection over reputation: McCaffrey and Swift at running back, Rice and Williams at receiver, Kraft at tight end, and Love at FLEX over Egbuka and Diggs because we favor his projected touches. Next, our priority is monitoring those Questionable flags before Thursday and lining up one quarterback and one tight end streaming fallback, while holding our full FAAB for a real weekly starter rather than depth.
